Parliament House Delhi The Indian government seat is a master-piece of architecture and the highest federal legislative assembly of the country. The Parliament House also known as Sansad Bhawan, was designed by the famous architect Sir Edwin Lutyens and constructed under the direct supervision of Sir Herbert Baker. The government seat as Parliament House Parliament House is located in the northwest of Vijay-Chowk, at the end of the Parliament Street beside the Secretariats.

The Parliament House was constructed in 1921 and it was opened in 1927. This magnificent architecture as Parliament House has two houses which are called Lok Sabha (The House of People) & Rajya Sabha (Council of States or Upper House). Any invoice has to be passed by both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha before it becomes a law.

The seat of Indian government, a circular structure supported by 144 pillars with a broad access strip, these identical pillars each measure around 8.23m high. It has a 27.4m high dome on top inspired by the stupas. The total area covered by the Parliament is approximately 2.02 hectares, and it has a 170.69m diameter.

The total area of Sansad Bhawan has high security and is enclosed by an attractive red sandstone wall with iron gates. The Central Hall is located at the centre of the House and is surrounded by three Chambers and three well laid-out courtyards with lush green lawns and fountains. Diminutive passages emerging from three central points on the circumference of the hall connect the Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha Chamber and the earlier Library Hall.

The Parliament House is opened for one and all absolutely free to entry in it, but one needs to have prior permission. The visitors needs to give a letter of introduction to the House to get hold of official entry pass whether the parliament is in session or not. Indian Nationals can obtain their letters from the secretariat and foreign nationals can obtain the letters from their respective embassies. The Parliament House of Delhi India is a place where the world's largest democracy functions.

The timings for the library are 10 am to 6 pm and an entry pass is required to enter the library.
