 Kolyat Fair, one of the most famous fairs in Rajasthan for the intention of getting rid of sins of the life, by taking a sacred dip in the kolyat Lake. Kolyat Fair is held in the Hindu month Kartik ever year in Bikaner . Both Kolyat Lake and temple at a distance of eight km from the prime city of Bikaner are the places where the fair is organized every year. To participate in the fair, a lot of people throng from far and near places. The foremost reason of holding the Kolyat Fair is that Kolyat Lake and temple are regarded as sacred by Hindu. It is believe that by taking a dip on the full moon day in the lake, salivation can be derived. Nationwide and overseas also frequent Bikaner especially during the festive months.
It is regarded that the temple of Kolyatji is one of the holiest of Hindu pilgrimage spots in Rajasthan, and as the historic past of the Kolyat shrine speaks of the arrival of the ancient sage Kapil Muni who meditated in the place.
