India Gate, Delhi

India Gate Delhi India Gate, Delhi is a 42m high gateway nestled at Rajpath, the road which leads to the splendid Rashtrapati Bhawan. India Gate also is known as the "All India War Memorial" and it was planned by Sir Edwin Lutyens, completed in 1931. The foundation stone of India Gate was laid by the Duke of Connaught.

India Gate, Delhi was built as a memorial to keep in mind the 90,000 Indian soldiers killed in World War I. "Amar Jawan Jyoti" or the flame of the immortal warrior is burning under it since 1971. The undying flame reminds the sacrifice of these brave soldiers, who sacrificed their lives during the Indo-Pak War of December 1971.
